SF WordCamp?

I really like WordPress and was kinda hoping I’d make it to SF WordCamp this year.  Unfortunately, it is not to be.  If you’re going, I’ve got a silly frivolous request –

If you spot one of those WordPress “W” stickers, would you snag one for me?

I’m getting a new laptop (actually, I’m getting an old relatively unused laptop from someone else) and I’d like to slap an official WordPress, MakerBot, PHP, and MySQL sticker on it.

Zaggo’s Pleasant3D v2.0

I’ve always been a PC kinda guy ever since my IBM 286.1  PC’s are inherently more modular and hackable than Macs – I can buy any off the shelf no-name brand part and fix something myself.

That said, Zaggo’s software is making me wish I had a Mac.  His Pleasant3D v2.0 software is crazy awesome.  I use Google Sketchup to design and a combination of Netfabb and Blender to convert formats.  But nothing I have lets me view models in the way Zaggo wrote.

  1. Which still works – rockin’ a 20 MB hard drive! []

Blind reading the blind…

I just noticed there’s a Twitter feed ( http://twitter.com/CanMakeIt ) following this blog.  Since my post titles tend to be more whimsical and self-referential than informative, I feel kinda bad for anyone mislead into clicking on the titles.

If you’re one of those who came to this blog wondering what the hell I’m babbling about…  um, sorry.  I’m frequently off topic.  Sorry for clogging up your RepRap aggregated feed!

Working out

I would have thought that the PLA would have just worked out all of the black ABS out of the way already, but it’s still got the occasional black streak.  Again, I don’t mind – I kinda like it.  However, I would like to be able to build some pieces out of pure PLA.  No matter, I’ll keep printing stripey non-cosmetic parts.  :)
