Not what I expected at all

I’ve never had to use crutches before.  I had always thought using crutches would be kind of like a super power – being able to swing forward and out.  I thought it might feel like being a money-man or perhaps a short giraffe.

For anyone who is wondering, it’s not like that at all.  It’s a lot more like being hobbled.

  1. Hey- if you can get your hands on them then the kind of crutches that have a forearm pad are great. They are called Canadian crutches some places. With those you end up building arm muscles as opposed to bruises. If you can’t picture them, then look here. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00083DFOW
I’ve torn both acl’s and these have really helped the recovery.

  2. @Ross: Really? I’ve always liked this style of crutch, but I didn’t think they were any easier to use than the big honking ones I have.
