I caught sight of this through Spacexula‘s RepRap Aggregator Feed – a $100 open source CNC mill. I was just thinking the other day how cool it would be to have an additive and subtractive CNC machine sitting next to one another.
But, $100?! It’s like someone would be paying me to build the thing.
No the fascinating idea is how hard would it be to make a printable cnc. Looks like it could be turned into 15-20 printable parts., plus threaded rod.
As in a Mendel/Darwin like tinker-toy construction? Or, plastic parts bolted to a wooden box?
Anyhow, can the $100 price tag really include the circuitry too?
